Eir - is it worth upgrading to an F3000 modem?

I have an F2000 and devices keep losing connection to it both on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. It's a real pain and gets to the point where I'm better off using 4G in the house.

There doesn't seem to be any firmware upgrades available to see if that would offer a quick fix.

Just wondering, is the F3000 modem any better and is it worthwhile pushing them for a replacement/upgrade?

Yes the 3000 contains all the latest HuaWei spying backdoors and the CCP will be delighted if you upgrade

Did you factory reset the old one? Wifi channels very busy?

I didn't do a factory reset - would this really help?

The WiFi network is pretty much a couple of phones and iPads (used very lightly). I have everything wired around the house such as work PC, NAS, TV, etc.

The F3000 is not a good modem. I had it and I work from home. It kept dropping the connection for my wife and myself. I'd always get a bad network quality warning when using teams. When I'd be remotely accessing PC's using AnyDesk the connection would also drop. Very frustrating. So I took the plunge and I purchased a router where I could setup the VLAN ID so that FTTH would work. I got the TP-Link AX 10. It has a WAN port. Connected it to laptop first to do initial setup and configure the VLAN ID. Its been almost a week now since I connected it as primary router and I've had no drops in wifi or wired connections. I can even leave AnyDesk running now all day and all night and when I get up in the morning its still connected to remote PC. The only issue I have is I have a VOIP package with Eir and this now doesn't work. There is a way to get it working but I don't think it can be done with the F3000 but possibly with the F2000 which I can't get now as stupid me sent it back to Eir.

fwiw I've found the F3000 much more stable than the F2000. I set up the F2000 as an access point at the other end of the house (replacing a TP Link), and it's still as flakey as f*ck.

New F3000 has been bullet proof for the few weeks I have had one running.
