What exactly do we need to do to the roadways?

Runoff from roadways cannot enter waterways, so basically camber the slope to make the slurry run towards the side away from water.
Water troughs to be kept 20 metres from watercourses also.

That last rule was amended, you can cross waterways but they have to be fenced at either side so animals can't walk up or down the waterway.

I’d say you pretty safe, I wouldn’t be going out and spending 1000’s our in my case here a six figure sum trying to keep the more learned civil servants happy

Can they drink if fenced either side?

Can you link to this rule?

No not allowed constant access for drinking purposes, just allowed for crossing. I don't have a link, it was clarified during recent derogation meeting. Probably a reprieve for dairy farmers due to the cost of installing bridges

Interesting, I didn't realise there was a cap on protein in feed for cattle over 2yo.

    What will that achieve?

I presume the more protein the more nitrogen is produced but I'm only guessing.

Have been feeding 14% once cows are at grass fully for years, grass has more than enough. Any higher than 14 and twill more than likely be pissed away

Busy years ahead for some good digger men putting a fall on laneways &contractor's with the less equipment &lime spreading outfits.

See in our county, last year some lad was offering a grass measuring service, covering a number of counties.

Money to be spent & made.
