Requesting CCTV footage ?

    Hi,

I’m unsure who to ask so figured I might try here.

I was involved in a physical altercation in Dublin City with another person 2 years ago. (No charges were pressed both ways) however I do have an ongoing complaint in against the Garda member also involved in the altercation. This is still in motion.

Is it possible for me to request the footage of myself from any of the Garda that have been involved in the case ?

    Thanks for any replies!

GDPR dictates footage is deleted after 28 days unless the incumbent deems it nescessary for H and S (claim) or other (crime)

Its unlikely the footage still exists unless you tick one of the above boxes.

Have your solicitor ask for any evidence they have. If you approach them directly, you are likely to be fobbed off.

Footage is still in existence as the complaint is still ongoing with Garda Ombudsman.
