Driving experience Tesla

    Hi everyone,
In a few weeks it's my boyfriend's bday and was thinking of some gift to purchase quickly online. Because he's a huge fan of Tesla and dreams to drive one some day, I thought to make his dream come true for a day or one hour. After googling a bit I couldn't find any local circuit offering a Tesla driving experience, except a Smartbox in Nantes (France). The other option is booking a test driving at Tesla directly, but I'm not sure whether it's feasible or free of charge/chasing for purchase (definitely not on the agenda). Any suggestions? Thanks

You can also hire one from ufo drive, for a few days.

Won't be the same as a track day, and he may end up buying one if he likes it too much!

I was offered €500 to give mine to someone for a day there about a month ago!
Seems your not the only one out there looking into on this!

Why not ring Tesla Sandyford and book a test drive. It's free!

Earlier this year I test drove the Model 3 Performance in anger over the Dublin and Wicklow mountains (using track mode - it's bloody excellent), the Model X Performance and the Model S performance with cheetah stance launch mode (making it the fastest production car in the world out of the blocks)

All in the one morning. Didn't cost me a cent :)

You can even book it online.

Did they chase you for purchasing?

    Nope.

And while I was driving the bejaysus out of their cars, they were fixing my own car (that I bought in the UK) for free, under warranty

I had a test drive in a Tesla before, in 2017, and back then they also did not chase me at all and I made it quite clear I was not in the market for one either. The sales staff were professional, enthusiastic and friendly. In fact one of them knew quite a bit about my car at the time, a Hyundai Ioniq (electric)

Are they strict on the 30 minutes?

"Test drives are approximately 30 minutes long"

Depends. If they have someone booked in for the next test drive in 30 minutes, I'm sure they'd want you back by then

I didn't need all that much time with the S and X (both less than an hour) and I took a little bit more than the hour I was allocated the 3

I'm sure the fact you owned a late model EV was enough to convince them you were a possible future sale and not a chancer looking for a joyride.

As the OP is looking for a birthday present I would say arrnging to have a Tesla on the driveway rented for him for a day or two makes a far better present than a trip to a dealer where he has to spoof the salesman into believing he is genuinely interested in purchasing one.

I believe they don't make commission on sales, as all sales are done online.

So they get paid whether you buy or not.

I booked online. They never got a chance to suss me out before they agreed to a test drive. Anyone can do the same. A free test drive!
