Non-phone line options for Broadband.

    Hi Folks

    I'm looking for recommendations for a non-phone line Broadband. We are 1300 meters from the exchange so the service was never great but it has got a lot worse lately. Possibly because more people are working from home. The download speeds go so low it regularly disconnects and reconnects to try and get a better connection.

    The address is in Shangangh Cliffs in Shankill. So I'm looking for recommendations for wifi Broadband or any option that doesn't need the phone line. I believe Virgin have their own network?

    At that distance you should be getting around 20Mbps download speed. Your line instability points to a problem with your telephone cable, or internal house wiring.

    Another possibility is strong local interference - think of things like an electric drill or an electric fence.

    Check out your telephone cabling - where it comes in to the house ensure that the connections are clean and tight to begin with
