Check if your reverse lights are coming on. If not then it may be a faulty reverse switch so the camera does not know you have selected reverse gear.

I think they stop working in every i40 and ix35 in the world. The cameras give trouble, a new one is around €200 i think.

Is it less than 5 years old? Might be under warranty.
