Layoff from covid- when to claim payment

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere online...
Today was my last day working (Christmas Eve) before layoff due to covid. I will not get my final pay until next Thursday (31st Dec)... do I have to wait until this comes through before applying for the payment or can I apply now and still be accepted? I am worried as the final deadline to apply for PUP is the end of this year and this perfectly lines up with my final pay from my job. I'm very worried about how long I may be without work as it took long enough to find this job in the first place...

    Apply online immediately.

But don't panic. Applications for PUP have been extended to 31st March 2021.
