Balcony Door beside wardrobe

I have a bit of an annoying situation here where I cant put up a curtain rod as it would stop a wardrobe door from opening if it was to protrude from the wall at all. Are blinds the only real choice here or are there any reccommendations of ways around this?

You are not going to be able to put curtains on the face of the wall, but you might be able to put a rail inside the window recess at the top - like the suggestions here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n834jiQQ1G4. Blinds might look better but may not be so convenient when taking account of the balcony door.

    If it's not a rental.

Just change the doors to sliders from IKEA. Will update the look and allow more freedom on window dressing.

If you really want curtains then look at mounting a curtain rail just below ceiling lining up with top panel of the wardrobe. You would probably need a non standard curtain length ...made to measure.

So the previous owners had a similar set up, wardrobe doors opened out, thin curtain rail above the opening to the bay window.

We took it down to do a curved rail in the bay window itself to open out the room, but the narrow curtain rail does work in the scenario. No hope of getting a curtain pole to work though.

You could turn the two doors into one concertina door - take it off the hinges at the window edge and hinge the two together.

You could have one long curtan mounted above the door and have it gather on the left?

Probably better again to look into a ceiling-mounted curtain track instead, e.g. https://www.ikea.com/ie/en/cat/track-systems-18893/?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, lots of things I wouldn't have thought about. I think I'll eventually get sliding wardrobe doors installed but will most likely just go with vertical blinds in the meantime to tide me over.
