Help with public service screening process

My sister has been accepted to a public service panel and she was sent an email with loads of screening requirements. She is not sure how she will fulfill some of the criteria so I said I would try to help.

    1. Notarised Education Qualifications - I presume you just ring the relevant college and ask for exam results. Notarised means you get them Garda stamped?

    2. Notarised Birth Certificate - I presume you get a birth cert copy from the council and get Garda to stamp?

    3. Confirmation of previous service from HR or Salaries stating your start date, length of service, point on salary scale and incremental date - Is this for every single employer she has worked for? She has 20 years of employment history.

    4. If you have spent more than 6 consecutive months outside of the Republic of Ireland, please provide security clearance for all jurisdictions dated after you left that country - She was in Australia for 1 year over 15 years ago, how should she get this security clearance? Australian Embassy?

    Any help appreciated.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Google notary public and you’ll get a list of local ones.

Can a Garda notarise a document? How exactly does it work?

No, the Gardaí can't notarise documents. They don't have the authority to do it. A lot of notaries are also solicitors. Go to the below website. There is a drop down menu there with a list of counties. I'm sure you'll find one local to you there.

Citizen's Information offices have a Justice of the Peace available. They can notarise documents. No charge.

She needs to clarify with HR the following
Verification of service is this only for any public service work she has done so she can get incremental credit? Generally you do not get credit for work in private sector. HR in former job fills.
Justice of peace or peace commissioner notarises documents for free. Maybe check out on local Facebook group for names.
    Education get from college.
Police check goodle australian police check. It has a cost but not too big.

Well done on getting the job.

This link looks legit but do you think it's for Irish applicants or native Australians?

Hello. Im currently on two public service panels. Is it mandatory to provide a reference from your current employer? Would it be acceptable to provide a reference from a previous employer of five years ago? Is there any flexibility?

In Ireland a Notary Public is someone who signs and stamps documents that are being send OUTSIDE of Ireland.

Herein, the documents are destined for use in Ireland, so the title of person wanted is a lesser (i.e. cheaper) person called a Commissioner for Oaths.

Tell her to google commissioner for oaths + town name. She will find one no problem.

The word "notarised" does not require a notary public, it is just an americanised term that has slipped into English here meaning to have signed by someone with a legal title.

Gardai do not certify documents. You need a Commissioner for Oaths.

Not being smart but surely you should know all this given that you used to work in the public service according to yourself

I haven't worked in public service since early 2000s. I wasn't in HR and never had to do above.

OK, my wife started a job in the public service only two years ago and had to provide their birth certificate, qualifications and two reference from previous employers, to match up with what she claimed on her application when going for the competition, same as friends who started in the 90s. The only difference was that my wife had to be garda vetted, but that's done online.

Friend also started with revenue this year and had to provide the same information as my wife, but just scanned their documents and uploaded them due to covid, again garda vetting was done online. After that signing documents such as the official secrets act scanned and sent back.

Neither worked previously with the public/civil service so didn't have to provide any information in relation to this.

Thanks. My sister said she hasn't been given an official list of requests yet but was given a very long list of what might be required depending on the job or application I guess.
