Sealing block work before stone

We have 8 inch thick stonework to go around our sun room and porch of a new build (block build). Would I need to seal the outer leaf of block work before the stone masons start?

I've had some people say to get a plasterer to give it a scratch coat, others say it would be grand to leave as it is, then I was reading up on brush on masonry sealers. What is the done thing?

    Thanks.

What is construction inside to outside. Where is the air-tightness/vapour barrier layer, insulation etc.

This has been debated to death before on here. Some say it matters, some say it doesn't. Both are correct.

Explain the building breathability/airtightness science behind both being correct

Is there a cavity in your wall build up? It would be very unusual to plaster before facing in stone unless your wall construction doesn’t include a cavity.
