Linkedin Profile Question

    Hi,

I am looking to update my CV & in turn my Linkedin profile.

I plan to have a link in my CV with the url to my linkedin account. I have already edited the url link to my profile in Linkedin to something normal - www.linkedin.com/in/firstnamelastname.

I have set the settings on my linkedin profile to public.

The issue I am having is that when I send the url to my linkedin profile to a family member they are clicking on the link & going via a browser but are being asked to sign into linkedin or join to view my profile.

I thought if it was public, they would be able to click on the link and see my profile without having to sign in or join.

Is there something missing or that I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Try this:

    https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/data-visibility

Option 3 - 'Edit Your Public Profile'

I don't think this is anything specific to you - like most social media websites, there's only so far you can go without being asked to join.

Just from memory, so it might be wrong, but I think if you want to see someone's full profile you have to be signed in, but you can google a name and "linkedin" and see search results with a bit of a summary of each person.

Public just means that any logged-in user can go into your full profile and they don't need to be a 2nd level connection or anything like that.
