Going down to one car now so am hoping to upgrade the 06 Ford Galaxy

Had my eye on the Skoda Kodiaq and the budget would have gotten me a 2018 but I went to look at one yesterday and it's very snug inside (I'm probably spoilt with the space in the Galaxy).

Need something that can fit a teenager in the 3rd row as well as 3 across the middle (although I'm happy to have 2 in the boot & 2 in the middle if the middle set of the middle row is narrower.

Oh there's also a lab sized dog to get in there on occasion too.

Considering a Volvo XC90 (circa 2015 / 2016 with the budget) or just sticking to the Galaxy (maybe a 191 Titanium spec for the budget)

Any others I should consider? 4WD would be a bonus for the odd trip out west buy not essential.

For space (similar to what you'd be used to with a Galaxy), particularly the 2 rearmost seats & the boot, hard to beat a SEAT Alhambra/VW Sharan. Sliding doors also very handy.....

Alhambra/Sharan are prehistoric at this stage, they are 10+ year old designs that haven't really changed much as traditional MPVs are now being superseded by 7 seater crossovers. While the Galaxy is getting on in years now too if feels more modern than the Albambra or Sharan, however if purpose is more important then all 3 will do the job.

After having a Galaxy for a while now I am interested in the 7 seater crossovers but they do seem to lack the space from initial findings
Peugeot 5008 - back row cramped
Skoda Kodiaq - very snug inside
Seat Tarraco - even snugger than the Kodiaq from the reviews I've read
Land Rover Discovery snug enough too

Yes its a van but theres a 7 seater option on the current Citroen Berlingo and its Peugeot equivalent.

That might be worth a look for the space

It has the space alright but that is one ugly looking car

Can't see it for me but thanks for the suggestion

Kia Sorento or Hyundai Sante Fe maybe? or how about an

    Opel Zafira Tourer,

    Renault Grand Scenic,

    BMW 2 Series Grand Tourer.

A few options you could check out.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Mitsubishi Outlander 7 seater.
You would probably pick up a 2019 or possibly a 2020 in January for under 35k.

A caddy life would be a better car

If you want real space look at the vw shuttle or caravelle 8/9 seater

I would but Mrs Frash says no - she draws the line at a van

Gonna look at a Kia Sorento next after reading reviews

Thanks for all the tips so far

Sorrento is very small in the back. The Galaxy is the best for size and comfort and you should get a high spec 191 in your price range. I got a 181 titanium for similar money 18 months ago.
