    As per title.

Wheels were taken from a new top of the range Van Rysel road bike.

€750 for wheels, skewers, tubes and tyres. Add an Ultegra R8000 cassette for €30.

    Cheers, Nicholas

were the labels on the tyres and wheels lined up like that on delivery? if so, kudos to the bike builders in decathlon.

I’d imagine they’re labeled by Mavic as opposed to the bike manufacturer. But yeah I’ve never had the tyres off anyway and I’m sure the wheel builders get plenty practice!

I'd be interested in the cassette if available. What ratio is it?

Apologies if this is a stupid question, are these clinchers?
I’m assuming they are since you mentioned tubes.

    Thanks for confirming.
Where are you based? Would you take €650 if collecting is an option?

Based in Mayo/Roscommon. Collection or delivery by courier (€10 extra) is fine with me.

But I wouldn’t let them go for less than 700

    That’s understandable.
Unfortunately I can’t push the budget out any more. :-(
    Good luck with the sale.

Have Mavic now moved to full carbon rims and no longer use the aluminium strip. Not unusual to find older model of wheels being used on brand new bikes.

Mavic have manufactured full carbon rims for many years. They also continue to market alloy/carbon wheels due to the different properties they offer.

Personally, I avoid wheels with a full carbon construction as I don’t believe they’re fit for purpose in an Irish context.

I'm the same. They seem to have abandoned their "Exalith" aluminium rims which struck a fantastic balance -that all black full carbon look but with excellent braking. I've a pair of exalith SLR's that are 8 years old and true as new, and a set of the cosmics above with the Exalith rims and they are fantastic. My favourite wheels. But everything's gone full carbon now. Pity.

I don't think they have made a carbon/alloy mix rim for a number of years now. That particular model hasn't been on there website for a few years. It's a shame they stopped making them as they are a cracking wheel.

It's been a strange few years from Mavic in many ways; culminating with them going into receivership earlier this year.

Looking back, their Cosmic product line alone was crazy. There was the Elite, SL, SLR, SLS, SL C and Pro Carbon at one point and that's before adding in the exalith and full carbon versions.

I'd imagine they will rationalise their product lines over the coming years, offer far fewer variations and retain/reintroduce the staple, most popular wheelsets.

In addition, although the Exalith wheels (Ksyrium and Cosmic) are excellent, they must be costly and complicated to manufacture.
