Do we still need to change uk/eu licence by the 31st Dec 2020? I am sure there are many here still driving on uk/eu licence.
Should we not be able to keep it as it was issued when uk was in the EU?
Very confusing reading the NDLS website.

You should have your licence swapped to an Irish one by December 31.
Its pretty clear you've had 4 years to transfer the licence, if you haven't its on you

Yes it's been on the TV. News, radio. It will be an offence to drive on a UK licence here from the 1st of Jan if you are a resident.

Your comprehensive insurance could also be void and defaulted to 3rd party as you would be driving without a licence.

    From the NDLS website...

I live in Ireland and hold a UK/NI driving licence. Can I continue to drive on this licence in Ireland after Brexit?

With effect from 31 January 2020 the UK is no longer a member of the EU. Under the arrangements put in place, UK/NI driving licences held by Irish residents will continue to be valid up to 31 December 2020 – the end of the transition period. This means that UK/NI licences will no longer be valid to drive on here in Ireland after 31 December 2020 so UK/NI licence holders should take steps to exchange their licence now.

Its as clear as could be.

    Sweden...
Simplified driving license rules issued in the UK
    Published November 26, 2020

The government has today decided that people who have a driving license from the UK should be able to use the driving license in Sweden, even if the person has been registered in the country for more than a year.

    - Sweden and the United Kingdom have a close collaboration that will continue to develop even after Brexit. Therefore, the government has today decided that the more than 15,000 Britons who are registered in Sweden will be able to continue using their national driving licenses, says Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth.

To make it easier for people with British driving licenses to live, work and study in Sweden, the government today decided on an exception in the Driving License Act. This means that people who hold a driving license from the UK now do not have to apply for a Swedish driving license after one year, but can continue to use their driving licenses.

Today's decision also includes driving licenses issued in the Faroe Islands.

The amendments are proposed to enter into force on 1 January 2021.

once you took up residence in ireland\eire you had to exchange your licence within a time period.
under eu legislation and law for which ireland having signed up to by agreements are bound to comply with
but Fail and break eu legislation and law --
    https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=celex:32006L0126
    (5)
This Directive should not prejudice existing entitlements to drive granted or acquired before its
    date of application.
    ========= dated of 20 December 2006========

there were further changes in 2013 which allso guaranteed by eu law that there was NO prejudice
in regards entitlements to drive granted or acquired before its date of application.

the irish government and rsa.ie along with ndls in my case took my entitlements away and claimed
(eu definition of event) under atricle 7:3 === this only applies to NEW drivers but i have to take to eu court
as the government and rsa.ie along with ndls have by lack of reply and passing me from one to another and back
in a loop are GUILTY of breaking eu legislation and law.
the garda are useless as they have no intention of charging either the minister of transport or the department
staff whom have taken my entitlements -- YET the same fukwits will hammer for no road tax.
    ===============
drive on what you have and quote me if stopped - the courts will not deal with the law breaking government etc.until
it is brought before them and i have no money to take civil case.
AND you thought photo shoot of ross with non working electric charging point the "norm" for others to laugh at the irish.
yes some smart detective or barrister reading this stand up and charge those but ya all lack man parts and corrupt.
FG and FF have harmed the irish whilst pretending to be eu and part of but constantly commited offences and still do.
