Huawei tablet

I'm thinking of buying a Huawei tablet. Reviews of it are very good and I know people who've had Huawei phones and thought they were very good. But someone mentioned about the possible trade ban for Huawei and they said it could effectively make the tablet redundant. is that correct? Realistically is there any major concerns with buying a Huawei tablet?

I've been using a MediaPad M3 for the last three years, no complaints. Main use is reading magazines/newspapers pus a bit of Youtube. Hasn't been any Android updates in over a year but to be expected I guess.

Yeah they sound like a very good tablet. I suppose my concern is if there's any risk of them becoming somewhat redundant in the future if there is a trade ban for Huawei...

If the tablet you buy already has Google apps installed, it won't be affected by the trade ban.
Huawei's newer models, phones after p40 and the matepad pro 10.8 and later all shipped without Google apps.

That said, currently on Emui 10.2 or lower the apps can be installed and will (in my case anyway) persist after upgrading Emui to 10.8

They are fantastic pieces of kit, but if Google apps matter and you aren't very comfortable with ADB or step by step guides.
Go with someone else.

I dont know much about Lenovo as a brand, but the Argos reviews are generally quite positive. What would the general opinion about Lenovo as a brand be?

Can't access the Lenovo link, but I can tell you Mediapad tablets are fairly good.

I've bought a Mediapad Lite M5 10' last year and I'm quite pleased with it

One comparison tool you can use that was quite handy for me was this website

Foreword: 16 Gb for a tablet, even putting some extra storage in an SD card, that's going to fall short with the Android updates and/or applications you're going to install, so make sure it's at least 32 Gb
