ECU reprogramming recommendation

    Hi all.

The missus' Mazda 3 ECU seems to have died, so I've managed to source one (same model, year, part code).

However, I'll need to get the new one reprogrammed with the data from the old one.

Can anyone recommend a person or company who does this?
I've had MFK recommended by a garage already and a quick Boards search seemed to back this up.

If it's a used ECU,plug it in & see if it starts. It's already programmed.
I'd think your only issue might be the immobiliser, get it removed from the Ecu or get the keys reprogrammed.

Yep it's used. A new one for a 2004 would be crazy money.

My understanding is that the ECU is programmed to the immobiliser, so it'll need to have the data transferred from the old to the newer one in order for it to work?

I used KC Systems in Cork to do the same last year. Posted both ECU's to them and they copied the original to the replacement with a fast turnaround. Has worked perfectly since.

Thanks, spoke to them yesterday, hopefully it can be sorted. Seems like such an awkward issue to resolve though.
