Accident last night on Spiddal/Barna road:

Road is closed so might see impact on traffic in the suburbs but if anyone was on the road last night then the guards are looking for dashcam fotoage.

Heard this on the news, barely gets mentioned but someone leaves a woman in her 50s dead at the side of the road and no one really bats an eyelid. It's just horrific. Jail and lifetime ban if they ever find the f*cker.

Gardaí are appealing for infomation about the hit and run driver.

Do you know of a 2004 to 2007 model Toyota Corolla which has sustained damage since Wednesday evening.

Woman charged in court today for the hit and run offence. Woman in her 50s with address in clonboo corundulla. XXXXX( unsure of spelling of surname). Due back in court again on 4th Jan.

Some solace for the victims family that the perpetrator has been caught and hope she gets a lengthy sentence for the offence.

No link up as of yet. Guessing lot of the media still on holidays and that court appearance was an emergency sitting. Was reported on radio na gaeltachta news this evening at 6 clock. Suspect being retained in mountjoy till next appearance next Monday 4th.

If it's a female, she won't.

155 odd spaces for females in prison. Consider how many are serving murder sentences and theres a revolving door for the rest of them.

Be lucky if she receives a token sentence and she'll be given temporary release early enough into the paltry sentence she receives.

Silvia Dube, in her mid-50s and with an address in Clonboo, Corrandulla, Co Galway, was charged in connection with this fatal road traffic collision and of not remaining at the scene.

Rita Dirrane, from Cill Rónáin, Árainn, died after she was struck by a car on the R336 in Na Forbacha, (Furbo) Conamara on the evening of the 16 December.
