Hospital Appointment & Time off (Holiday?)

    Hi All,

So I went to the doctor the other day with a problem and long story short he said I am going to have to see a consultant as soon as possible. I'm expecting an appointment to be arranged by the consultant by the end of the week.

Is this appointment counted as a sick day or should I take a paid holiday for that day, I'd have no problem making up the time if that was an option. Just wondering what are peoples thoughts on this? Ideally this appointment would be outside work hours but obviously I cannot dictate the timing of an appointment with a consultant.

    Thanks.

Are you actually too sick to work on the say hpu see ghe consultant? If not, then you should use annual leave.

But some companies have contracts that will let you gave paid sick leave or time off in lieu for this sort of situation. So, check your contract.

Can you not go in before or after the appointment?
