Is there an equivalent thread for triton shower? My house has T90s and for the past couple of weeks now, shower hs been getting bloody hot and cold every 5 mins and now more less. It starts with a click sound. I have removed the showr head, so not the issue.

Truth be told, I really dont want to open the shower. Can't take the risk of getting electrocuted.

Triton T90si? Or Triton T90sr? How old is the shower?

The click you hear is the TCO. This could be failing. It could also be the motor running at different speeds causing the hot/cold cycle

Its the T90si. I have no idea how old its as it was in the house when I moved in.

14 to 21 years old. They stopped making parts for it around 6 years ago. Best option is to replace it with a Triton t90sr silent shower

You say that you removed the shower head. Have you run the shower without the head & do you still have the same issue? A spurious head or blocked head might cause the issue.

When the water gets too hot the TCO will click & electricity no longer goes to the element. Once the heating can is full of cold water the TCO will reset itself and the water heats up again.

Have you checked the shower filter, if you ensure shower is switched off at the pull cord/switch AND switch off the relevant RCD/RCBO at the "fuse" board the no risk of shock.

Yes, i still get the same issue after removing the shower head and running the shower. I removed the shower hose from the Triton unit and same issue occurred.

As the filter is in the unit if I'm correct, I have not done so.

Yes, give that a clean, it may not have been since day one, I also think there is a little plastic bleed screw somewhere around there or near the pump so vent this when you have restored the water.

I reduced the power from highest setting to medium one and I was able to have shower without the water going hot or cold. It felt fricing great. Both power and water temp were maxed out.

The issue might still persist and needs fixing but hope this delays the inevitable.

I'll report back if I get more issues.

It's quite simply that the flow rate isn't great enough to run on the high power setting, the filter would be my prime suspect, just clean it with a old toothbrush, replace and vent. It would be a shame not to do that as they are
/were a fine, long lasting shower.

I wonder if the heating can might be choked with limescale as you suggested on another thread recently

Forgot that, maybe THE prime suspect after ~ 15 years.

the pump in the 90si started to groan this morning, with fluctuating water flow rate and temperature.
We are in a hard water area, so i suspect its the end of the line.
Is the Triton t90sr silent shower an easy replacement or will it require tile removal etc?

No tile removal. Same plumbing & electrics. Screw holes won't match up so you'll need a good tile bit

So Chadwicks have it for 235.. is this extortionist?

Woodies 229. This is close to cost. I doubt that there is 15 percent profit at this price. 0

There are very few t90sr showers left in Ireland at the moment. Triton UK factory closed due to the lock down. We're not likely to get more in Ireland till February and maybe even march.

    Si is direct replacement

Easy to do, boss is happy :D
just drill out new holes in the tiles
    plumbing and wiring easy.

Inside of the SI was very black: see attached: it was just black dust.
    Two tips
use masking tape to mark the new drill hoes on the tiles.

Have a cordless angle grinder handle to cut the water connection on the SI as its a sealed ferrule, in case the unit won't move sideways. see attached picture.

One of the fixing screws was corroded so had to put a nail bar behind the SI to get it out.
Thanks for all the suggestions and links :)
