Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Opinions on Sky Q Remote?

We're due to be upgraded to Sky Q 1TB UHD box in early January but I have some reservations particularly on the Sky Q remote. We currently have SKY+ HD and my other half has mastered the operation of the remote after an initial struggle. I would appreciate if current users of Sky Q could let me have their opinions on using it. Is it a fairly steep learning curve? Do you have to use voice control or is that an option? I've also read a lot of complaints about dropouts on the sound with Sky Q.

    Any information and opinions welcome.

We had it installed in October. Was totally used to the Sky HD remote so changing to a different one was not as easy as you'd expect.

It's smaller and slippier in the hand over a Sky HD remote. The button layout takes some getting used to as well.

Sliding your thumb down to hit back up? Nope, that's the Home button now and takes you right back to the start of everything if you hit it my mistake.

Want to browse channels on the banner at the bottom whilst you watch something? The up and down buttons behave the opposite to how they do on Sky HD.

Want to go to the last channel watched or flip between the two? You now have to press the right arrow button to access the last channel.

It takes a little getting used to but overall the Q system is nicer looking, slicker and more feature packed than the standard HD one. In time you'll enjoy it, but it'll take a little while to get the hang of it.

There’s a version of the Q remote made to resemble the Sky HD remote for elderly and those unable to adapt

Hate sky Q in general and a crap remote doesn't improve things.
