I have an Admiral fridge freezer, there are options to have ice cubes or crushed ice. When crushed is selected it comes out as expected but when cubed is selected there is a loud banging noise. The cubes still come out.

When I remove the ice holder I can see that there is an arm underneath which connects the front of the freezer to a square mechanism at the back about 3/4" square, it is this that is banging at a ferocious speed. Its annoying and am conscious it may lead to a bigger problem, anyone know a solution?
