I use an old version of Freemake video converter because of its simple user interface. Are there any better Open Source video editors out there?

Lots, depending on what you want to do, some will be more suited than others.

    Here are some ...

    Avidemux
    Cinelerra
    kdenlive
    lives
    losslesscut
    openshot
    shotcut

and so on up to Blender for 3D modeling, animation, rendering and post-production

    Also video converters such as
    avidemux
    handbrake
    sinthgunt
    winff

    and others.

So maybe state what you wish to use it for, and on what operating system.

Thank you. Windows 10, just looking for a basic top and tail editor and coverter combined. Something like Freemake video coverter, if your familar with that. The simpler the interface the better.
