Trap door for attic

    Hi folks,

Our attic space was converted by the previous owners, it was a DIY job as apparently they were builders but was done in the late 80s early 90s. They put stairs up through the hotpress and moved the immersion tank into the wardrobe in the back bedroom.

So the stairs comes out in the middle of the attic floor. They put up banisters etc around it. I want to get rid of the banisters and get a trap door fitted that when closed would be flush to the floor. Presumably would need to be on some for of hydraulic hinges.

Is this plausible? Would an attic conversion company take on something that small or would i go to a carpenter or is there any companies that would specialise in that?

    Cheers
