    Not a hope.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

A car from the north won't be subject to VAT or duty afaik? They're remaining within the single market.

Ohh, but I fear the vrt will go up? Is that true or an I listening to wrong people?

Depends on the car. Most will go up rather than down.

Depends entirely on the car. You need apply the Co2 to WLTP conversion formula which revenue supplied earlier in the year, and that will determine the band it falls into.

Another factor is that with the car being a year older, the VRT will potentially be calculated against a lower OMSP.

    Sorry to hijack.
Had vrt appointment yesterday. Had everything ready to go but they are now saying I need to wait to hear from revenue who need to value the car as its only a 1 year old. Is this normal? I know a guy who vrt'd a 201 van no problem...

Yes for such a new car, its normal. They add vrt to extras so they'll be looking for exact spec and options

So do you have any idea how long this takes... Very aware of the ticking clock!

I don't, sorry. But I'd imagine it's even slower than usual at the moment with restrictions etc
Maybe someone that has vrtd a car recently might see this and help you.

That's standard with higher end models. It was taking revenue 4/5 weeks to send back the valuations. They have said any submitted after December 4th is not guaranteed back in 2020. You might get lucky though! Fingers crossed
