Storage Heater - Switch Stuck In On Position, No Longer Generating Heat

    Hello all,

    For over 2 years we’ve had a Creda storage heater in our apartment sitting room with no issues.

    For the first time this morning, it was very cold when we got up and upon further inspection, it became clear that the storage heater wasn’t generating any heat and the switch is stuck in the on position.

    We are now unable to move the switch and the heater has failed to work again tonight despite the switch actually being stuck in the on position as per above.

    I was just wondering if anyone may know what has caused this or any potential solutions?

    The switch is turned on/off around twice a year so it’s not a case it being misused, but research online seems to suggest something may have melted/overheated, or a wire has become loose causing the switch to get stuck?

    All other storage heaters in the apartment are still working without issue and we’ve had no issues with anything tripping etc.

    Replacing the switch with a 20amp double pole switch should resolve the issue. You may have to restrip the wiring to make good before reconnecting
