Edit: I mean bonnet can mod change please the title?

When I pull the lever inside the car it pops the bonnet fine but when I put my hand under the bonnet to pull the tab up it doesn't lift up just like it's stuck any ideas?

An 8P shape? They are very prone to the locks seizing if they aren't used regularly.

You're lucky it's even popping. Just keep jiggling it, see if you can get a dart of WD40 in at it and hope for the best.

If you have no joy, most workshops are handy enough at opening these from below when they are stuck as it's so popular but really you need a new lock.

    Sorted it, kept jiggling.

Basically the black plastic pull up catch was stiff and little seized from gunk, gave her an almighty cleaned and oiled and working A1

    Thanks again

Funny, my mk5 gti failed the nct yesterday with this exact problem.
These two cars share a lot of parts.
Had to take it off and hit it with brake cleaner and a wire brush to free it up.
