    Hi,
I have tried to navigate the threads on this, but could not find one that matches my issue.
I have an issue with an internal 11 plug outlet circuit that is somehow tripping with no load or plug in place. After some initial fault finding, I managed to get it to a particular circuit and have removed all plugs. So far, I have checked 4 of the plugs that they seem fine, ie all wires are connected.
We got a full re-wire about 9 years ago.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

If everything is actually removed from the circuit?

Next step really is testing the wiring and the RCD

Make sure the immersion is switched off

The circuit from what I can see is these 11 plug outlet with approx 7 on outside walls and the ones I checked seem dry.

There is no immerison on this circuit. But I have turned it off at the switch.

Need to wait for Ronaldo to finish FIFA game first before retrying everything again.

Is cable and RCD testing is routine enough for an electrician?

With immerision off, it is still tripping

    Check RCD leakage
    Check load on final circuit
    Check RCD trip times
    Disconnect final circuit
    IR test final circuit

Something like that for your problem

Thanks for this. I have a multimeter!

I remember this testing being carried out after the rewiring and got a cert to sa we where good to go.

I take it that this is not a Sunday afternoon "give it a lash fix", unless I am an electrican?

The rcd will most likely cover all sockets in the installation

Make sure everything is unplugged throughout the house

Make sure heating system is turned off

Make sure all outside sockets are unplugged

Check all washing machine/dishwasher appliances etc are unplugged

Check your immersion is definitely turned off

    Seem to have found it.

An external plug is wired to an interior plug. Did not know that !

Opened the external plug box and it seemed damp, almost sweating. Changed the face of the plug and seems stable for now!!!

    Thanks for the help.

Assume you mean socket not plug.
You need to find out where the dampness is getting in on the outside socket. Are they proper external sockets?
You should also determine if the internal socket is supplying the outside one.

If worried about this continuing I'd recommend getting outside on its own circuit.
