Hey, hopefully this is the right place to post, but im a nurse in a public hospital, and have been offered a job as a nurse in a private hospital.
Is there a difference in the workload, or would it be similar.

    Thanks.

  • I don't mean to be smart but would you not ask the private hospital what your hours/shifts would be? It's perfectly reasonable to ask them about it.

Ask them if a job here is easier you mean?
I dont think that would be a question i would ask in an interview tbh.

Do you intend to stay in the role long-term? If you do, check the pension comparison. I suspect that the HSE pension will be significantly better.

Private hospitals are likely to be run more like a business - revenue generating - than a public hospital...if not now, then in the next few yrs. That will bring its own challenges.

Private hospital might offer more chance of advancement etc - smaller system - than the HSE but no guarantees......
