Would you still be liable for VAT on a 2016 bike with less then the 6000km cut off point?

Indeed but it stops demo and old stock vehicles being sold without VAT being collected. Revenue never miss a trick

    It is what it is.

Just ride the required number of miles (6000km = c.3750 miles before entering the state.)

What bike is it ? Maybe a replacement clock from a breaker ?

Had the same scenario with a 2010 bike. Only 2500 miles on it. Swapped clocks was only option.

Black & Decker drills will last well over 4,712.52 kms ;)

The mileage limit only applies on the day of your appointment so if you bring it in under the limit you still have a good while to clock up the miles

Are the NCT centres busy now with covid?

I would try and book an appointment as far away as possible to give yourself time to drive up the mileage
