Uber Eats is scam?

Got food there once or twice. Uber Eats.

Previously I thought that I have not received a discount with coupon I received earlier.

Now I have coupon for sure, that gives 30% discount for over 15 euro discount. I try to order using coupon.

So I come to shop, where I try to order. Meal shows price.

I try ordering, and there are NON OPTIONAL, mandatory options, that add price on top of order. I can't avoid them. So two meals. 8.10 + 8.60 with 30% discount becomes 19!
I am aware they take percent from order or something like 2 euros.

    copy paste:

    "Extras
    Required • Choose between 1 and 9"
And extras are between 75 cents and 2.70.

OK, so I may be did not apply discount(I used link from my email, special offer why is not applied automatically? Do they not have proper web developer?).
I did apply it manually for sure, I see green notice that 30% discount applied.

Now I get this message, after I have applied discount:
    • Subtotal€19.00
    • Order total is unavailable
i tried other options under same store, to see what happens.

Then i get message that restaurant is too far.

    Did my address change? NO!

So its not far away enough to send me spam, but suddenly it is too far, when I take on their offer?

Classical case of byte and switch? For both orders AND offers?

You know when you get to the ‘place order and pay’ step?

    You don’t have to.

The 'extras' are restaurant specific; not Uber.

A bait and switch would require giving you something to buy - not giving you nothing. "too far" will depend on what drivers/bikers are available.

I did not order, since they did not allow me to. Please read actual thread.

But you know when people raise awareness of scummy trader?

You don't have to tell them to avoid it. Original thread already did that.

Your issue here is entirely with a specific restaurant and NOT Uber, though, so you've done absolutely nothing to "raise awareness" of anything.

I will argue that. Its uber page. It not restaurant page.
Uber is a reseller. And even if I take position of Uber and they are not responsible, it STILL is THEIR page that allows for scammy advertising.

Basic math, 5th grader can do this math, you can calculate lowest price with all cheapest ingredients. If all cheapest components in minimal configuratio are higher in price than price for meal - do you really think Uber doesn't know this math?

Don't attribute to stupidity what can be explained with maliciousness.

Uber don't make up the menus or the pricing.

It is an ordering and delivery platform not a restaurant

It also appears you failed to apply the discount code and are trying to blame someone else for your mistake.

This thread is not exposing any scam and is worthless.
