    Hello,

Looking for best way to get this stuff off my alloy wheels. Its severely bonded with the alloy. I know I wont be able to get them back to perfect at this stage but I want to get most of it off.

Some research online is saying WD40 does wonders, others say oven cleaner, brillo pad.

Anyone ever find the perfect treatment for severely dust encrusted wheels?

    Thanks

    F

If the brake dust is only moderately bonded to the surface a fallout removal product such as Bilt Hamber "Korrosol", Carpro "Iron X", Gtechniq "W6", etc should do a good job, mayber needing 2 to 3 hits along with agitation with a brush.

If it's extremely baked on just go straight to an acid based wheel cleaner, forget about a fallout remover, such as Autopia "Blast", KKD "Devils Juice", etc. Make sure to wear a mask as theuy are quite potent. Lightly spray on to the wheels, leave for 30-50 seconds and rinse off. You can also agitate with a brush before rinsing if you wish.

Hey thanks a lot. I just ordered Autopia Blast. :) I went for the stronger stuff because some of the brake dust build up is a few millimetres thick.

What sort of brush or cloth would you use with that?

No worries mate. If you don't have a "detailing type" soft bristle brush, you can just use a 1"/2" paint brush. Just tape around the metal shroud on the brush to stop it potentially marking your wheels. Blast is strong and packs a punch on your lungs so wear a mask and gloves too. It can be diluted too so potentially start with a lighter dilution before hitting it full strength, and see how that goes.

Ok cheers. Think i might need to borrow a power washer, regular hose ain't gonna cut it with this muck...

That brown stuff is almost more like an enamel now. Cant wait to see what the Autopia Blast does to it. Should be here in the next day or two. :D
