Phone Interview Rejection

I recently applied for a job. I got an initial contact over the phone regards my CV. At the end of the phone interview I'm told I'll have another official interview via the phone (because of covid) the next day at a specific time.

The lady said she'd send me an email after our conversation with some details. I never got the e-mail and I never got called for the interview at the specific time she said they'd call.

Did something go wrong? Is it usual like this for companies who didn't get a good vibe from you in the initial contact to simply treat you in this way and not honor the interview?

Its seems odd as I've never had this happen before in my life.

Can be a clerical error; she just forgot to schedule you in.

If it was only a day or two ago, I would drop her a note just to see what's going on.

But yeah, sometimes a HR department will do a basic pre-screen just to have a chat before sending your CV to the hiring manager to review. They may look at it and decide you're not right for the job. It's only polite to let the candidate know you won't be proceeding though.

It was yesterday. She said she'd follow up our phone call with an e-mail she said she was sending right now. But it never came and neither did the interview at the agreed time. Oh well, theres a first for everything.

Could have typed your email address wrong. If it were me I would probably email politely to say I never received confirmation and ask if the interview was going ahead.
