Got Married Abroad - next step?

Me and my wife recently got married in British Gibraltar last month during level 5 here and it was a very easy painless and low-cost option, it saved us countless bureaucracy as my wife is a non-EU Citizen with non-English documents and the Irish Registry Fee of €200 was saved also plus their 3 month insane waiting time.

We decided to use the cover of the pandemic to avoid squandering a fortune on a pointless wedding ceremony as we are both shrewd financially and planning a house renovation and to start a family within the next 6-8 months.

Our Marriage Cert will arrive from Gibraltar next week so I wonder who do we need to file with in Ireland to update my status to married and the same for my Wife who will have to get a Stamp 4 Residency Permit to live here also.

You don’t need to update your status with anyone. It might be of benefit to inform revenue if you want to be jointly assessed, but it’s not essential

what stamp did your wife get at the airport on your return from getting married - this will determine what you need to do to get the residency
