AKA Yaris or Mazda 2 .

I’m thinking importing one these two from Japan . The year will most likely be 2015 .

Looking for an auto which will be used for city driving putting up very low Kms per year .

I’m airing on the side of the Yaris at the moment .It seems far more popular so parts etc should be more available here.

Any experiences/things to look out for with either.

    Thanks

Honda Fit is probably the most popular of that kind of car to import.

I hadn't considered one of them . Why would they be more popular.

    People like them!
I think certain nationalities like them too, you’ll often get that where a brand is popular in your country of origin.

Some of them are hybrids too which used to help VRT wise. Think that relief is gone now though.

The Jazz/Fit is very spacious and well built too so that helps as well.

I had a look at the ones for sale on done deal - they all seem to be hybrids .

I'm not sure if there any truth to this : if the hybrid/batteries give trouble , the Irish garages can't read or possibly fix the issues given they are in Japenese ?

I’m not sure but I think they can. There’s independent specialists that do them.

Probably less hassle for me to go with the standard petrol as we are keeping it long term .

Plenty to pick from on https://www.tc-v.com/used_car/honda/fit/?fid=2015&jid=2015&pn=1

They come in 1.3 and 1.5

I thought it was the older type prius that was the main target.

Don't know where the cat is on the 2015 yaris - they might be a safer bet .
