Had the kitchen extended a few years ago.
One small issue is with floor tiles.

They are large tiles - 600 x 600 and there is one place on the floor semi under a kitchen unit. There used to be a wall there and the floor that was left behind was not very solid. It meant that the tile had a much hollower sound than all the others. Something was dropped on it and it cracked due to space underneath it allowing it to flex.
I replaced the tile and tried to pack out the space with as much tile adhesive as possible.
Now, something got dropped again and the tile cracked again.

Any suggestions on how to deal with the hollow space?

Fill it with concrete, then tile it again. If there's good coverage with the tile cement it shouldn't crack.

    Do you mean cement ?
Gravel under tiles is a bad idea.
The cement will stick the tile as good as adhesive too.

Levelling compound, should have been done first time around.

    Isn't sand and cement concrete?

    Sand and cement is mortar.
Sand, gravel and cement is concrete.
