I have a Renault Clio 2015 and the handbrake/brake light is staying on the dash. Have released the handbrake a few times but the icon still stays on the dash.

Looked around the web and it says the car might need brake fluid. Could this be the answer or something else?

That’s often the answer. Check brake fluid level for a start.

I checked and there is enough in it, above the max line.

Are there any other unusual lights or messages coming up?

    No just the one

Actually there are a few little lines under the symbol which would indicate tyre pressure, will get tyres pumped up.

Cold weather can cause funny pressure readings, def rule that out first

Could it be a wear down sensor on brake pads ??

I ended up pumping up the the tyres and then resetting the dash, the symbol is gone.
