Just to give an alternative to the Turkey Trips :P
I'm almost 39 and basically have now spend more than 50% of my life as bald, damn you hormones.

I've no desire to get a transplant - primarily because i'd probably need to harvest every hair on my ape like body to make it useful.

this guy has been getting some clout through the year and last year for his hair "pieces" or toupe whichever people prefer.

Looks like tech has come on a bit, if you were thinking of a transplant would you consider this a viable alternative?

Looking at the cost, so no one in Ireland does it, I assume there's some UK/European folks that do it, but its about $800 to get it done by Phil (and assume a similar price for others in the US). It last for up to 6 months and then needs to be replaced, so you're probably talking on average $2K per year if you lived in the states.

From a personal perspective, I'd have no issue with this, pre-covid i had expected to be in the US in late august so was going to get it.
I'd have no issue having "hair" for a few months and then when the piece is end of life binning it and going back to shaving then getting a new piece.

Aren't there areas of research to do with cloning your own hair follicles so they can grow as many as needed so the donor issue will be not such an issue? Probably years away mind you. I can't see the wig thing taking off really. Inconvenient and still has lots of stigma to it and you can pretty much always tell in the flesh. Photos not so much. I'd reckon for men concerned about this the actual alternatives are still shave it off, oral and topical meds that work to some degree or other and hair transplants.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

yeah, but i agree its a long way off and one would assume incredibly expensive for the first few years.

I haven't seen one of them in the flesh but agree they look pretty inconspicuous in photos
