Bank card free money

    Does anyone remember back around December 2014 or so - near xmas time anyway 6/7 years ago. And loads of peoples bank cards were allowing them to purchase items even with no money in their accounts. What ever became of that - i never heard people saying they were made pay it back but heard plenty of talk at the time about getting things for nothing

    Ulster Bank was allowing me to withdraw money without checking the balance when their system was down for days. That was in the branch, though.

    There was atm giving extra cash as they loaded 50 euro notes instead of 10 or something similar.

    There are no free money, though. Even if UB would let me withdraw more than I had I would still end up owing them money.

    Not sure how the atm issue was dealt with.
