Searching District Court records

    Hi All,

I have searched through here there does not seem to be a recent post about how to search for a specific case. The last time it was discussed it was suggested to write to the local DC to ask for details of a case. I also cannot find a public search facility on the courts.ie site that goes back more that 8 weeks.

I am trying to find the details of a specific case which was in Dec 2016 in Trim DC and was struck out. Would anyone advise would I be able to get a copy of the the case online with reasons why it was struck out etc? Or would I need to write to the local DC to get that? Or perhaps cases which are struck out do not get recorded?

Excuse the wide reaching questions. I am not a person in the profession :-)

    Best Regards,
    S

Try the local newspaper for the time period concerned.

    Hi CCM,

Thank you. Just tried the newspaper now but its not in the paper for any of the weeks of December.

I presume writing to the DC would give me the full record. I might try that.

Unless you are a party to the case, it's unlikely you can access the record.
