Auto power on when charged

    Hi all,
Is there any way to have a phone automatically power on when it receives a charge?

Basically, if using a phone as a car tracker, I don't want it constantly on (as it'll drain the battery). However, connecting it to an ignition live port might be an option, but would need the phone to trigger on when it gets a charge.

    Thanks

Depending on the model, its going to drain very little from the car, especially if you have everything bar GPS disabled.
I a small solar usb power pack to keep mine charged, but this might not work if you are trying to be discreet.

the mobile connection will need to be on though so that will drain it

maybe get a cheap power bank and tape the two together to extend the life

there is this - but needs root and may not work with all android versions

Also if you are trying to track a car it's presumably driving, so draining the battery won't be an issue.
You get 8-10 zero to full charges from a car battery, so probably over two weeks.

Thanks for all the replies. It's more so for when the car doesn't get driven for several weeks/months. I only want the phone charging when the car is running. If it's on constant charge for weeks it'll kill the battery!

Don't connect the charger to a permanent live. Look in the fuse box and there'll be switched 12v there somewhere.

My daughter's iphone turns on as soon as it's plugged in, so that might suit you

Yeah that's the plan. It's going to ignition live only. I think I have an old 3G iPhone somewhere so might give that a go!
