Christmas Payments

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t see a thread on it and I can’t seem to find the information from the official website.

I’ve always been terrible at keeping track of my money but got worse since starting on welfare. Been doing good at training myself but I need to get on top of Christmas money now.

This is my first time on welfare (disability) and I only just learned there is a bonus payment coming.

I receive the payment every Tuesday night so is the following correct :-

    8th December - weekly payment + bonus
    15th December - weekly payment
2nd December - double payment to cover the week after Christmas
5th January - normal weekly payments resume

    Thank you.

I was putting an extra payment before Christmas in there.

You saved me a headache later.

I got my Xmas bonus today (7th Dec) and the lady working there said, "Normal payment next week (14th), double on the following Monday (21st). Seemed odd, because what if you get your payment on Wednesdays? Would you only get the Double on Xmas Eve, then?

On jobseekers benefit since end of March.
Only got single week payment today.

Give it a day, or just get on to them now?

That article is based on legacy arrangements and clearly states that this years payments have NOT been confirmed by the Dept.

It should have come with your regular payment. No harm in getting onto them.

I've been on long term JS, started a part time job last January and went on the 'casual dockets' - was side lined from end of March to Sep [received PUP] and back to the 3 days and dockets [now online] since - got no bonus .... looking at the link above seems I am entitled to it, either from being on the PUP for 6 months or long term JS [casual work is still JS] - no idea why I haven't received it, will have to head to Intreo today

Okay so, OP, going by the confirmed dates, you will get a payment on the 22nd and on the 30th. No double.

He's been on it for more than 104 days, so he qualifies

I just got one week paid today also. Were we not supposed to get a double this week? I'm confused now.

They didn't release the dates until quite late this year. There's an early payment next Tuesday and then the following Wednesday as normal.

Also only got a single this week. Our payment date is officially Monday (but SEPA means it goes in on a Saturday), so there should have been a double according to their released dates? I'm extremely confused now - does that mean we are going to be stuck waiting until the 28th for our next payment? :(

It may have been put in separately and still come Monday but call your local office first thing if you're worried.

Ended up with a double this week. Couldn't have made it any more confusing!

Did not get a double payment.
Apparently after calling in to query it, we will get a double payment tomorrow and no more payment until the 10th of January (we're on Illness Benefit). Asked why on earth we would get paid a single on Monday and a double on Wednesday and she just said that's what she was told.

Nobody seems to be getting Christmas payments as notified!
