Purchased a reconditioned Galaxy S7 from QuickMobile Fix Uk a fewyears ago and have to say it has worked flawlessly ultil it recently would not let me setup Revolut or Google pay. I have done nothing to it other than installing some apps. Android version is 6.0.1. Device status is "Custom". Any ideas?

It was network locked, they unlocked it by EFI tampering. Triggered KNOX compliance to drop.

There are ways around it but be careful, revert to stock may relock the device. Something for somebody familiar with ROMing and adb to try.

Android 6 is quite old and possibly not supported any longer.

Thanks Guys. I sort of thought that it would not be an easy fix. The S7 has worked well for my needs other than Google Pay and Revolut and should be upgradable to Android 8.0 though I tried to upgrade it also without success so probably the same problem. Think I will live with it while looking into options to replace it. Is it possible to buy a reconditioned unlocked galaxy that would not have the same problem? Any suggestions.

Sounds good but for a smartphone "idiot" where can I go to get this done? I gather this will delete all data. Can it be recovered from a backup and would I loose anything in the whole process?
