don't know why you're trying to download windows 7 on an android phone

no idea why it failed tbh

could have timed out on a network connection (data connection)

If you use a torrent software like utorrent and get a windows 7 torrent it won't have the timeout issue -- it will complete (once there are enough torrent sources)

else try it on a laptop

this is the laptop forum, not android btw

you'll have to make the usb stick bootable for windows to run it also

usually you would need to do that on windows itself

Thanks but I've no idea how to do that..when I start my laptop now, it shows the blue box with bios in it but nothing happens when I click on the options..

    two steps.

    1. copying windows 7 iso onto a usb key is not enough. you need to make the usb key "bootable" for install. there are programs to do this to the key once you have the windows 7 iso already downloaded. but they run on windows itself. you'll need to google this.

e.g. this is one program http://www.anyburn.com/tutorials/setup-windows7-from-usb-drive.htm

    2. on the laptop in bios you need to set allow the usb key to boot - you'll have to find it in bios. normally this is locked / turned off for security reasons by default

Thanks. That'll give me something to work on. Incidentally, when I attached the downloaded usb to the otg, and inserted it into port in laptop, I just got the bios window but I couldn't do anything else although the usb option appeared on list of options but nothing happened when I clicked it.
