Was old bulb actually orange and you are trying to fit in white ones? I believe the locating/locking pins are different on orange ones than white ones to prevent wrong colour being inserted but I am not 100%. If you are installing same colour try rotating bulb by 180 as it may only go one way around. A photo or markings written on both lamps would help as I am not 100% sure if question or issue. Check old and new are 100% the same in terms of mounting pins and connections.

If they are red brake and tail lamps these only go in one way around as they have dim and bright filaments.

Those facelift Focus’s have red brake light bulbs with clear lenses, so you should have 2 red and 2 amber.

Thanks for the replies, today was a learning day

As said a orange and red bulb, first time ive EVER seen it(had a punto and corolla before), but when u think the glass is clear so makes sense

E25 for two bulbs, next time I definitely will do my homework on type prices etc

I paid €5 each for the red ones last year.

    I can well believe it

Only good thing I didn't go full trousers down and pay E10 fitting

Lesson learned as they say :o

In fairness they where the only place to sort out replacement radio aerial when MANY places couldn't (ah here is a generic E15 might fit, try that or buy a whole new base etc for silly money)

    So not ALL bad
