    Hello.
My sister is looking for a speaker that will play music off an internal memory, sd card or usb source and also stream spotify.
However, she doesn't want it to be controlled via a phone as her daughter is only 9 and she wants to keep her off a phone for another few years

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Google home will do the Spotify without a phone. The memory card one you may struggle with.

Think the Amazon echo will stream Spotify too, maybe just use her Mam's phone to set up only, and then work off speaker?

yes these connected speakers (google, amazon, apple) have no need for a memory card or usb data connection really as they are connected obviously.

you can afaik pass bluetooth to a separate speaker from say an echo dot

plenty of bluetooth speakers with sd card / micro sd card slots.
