Sorry, title mistake... not new but new to me.

So I'll be looking for a 2018 vovlo s90 or Audi A6, we still have the second car so I'm not in a rush while we are working from home..

My thoughts are to wait till Feb 21 to get a 2018 car, but now between Brexit, higher vrt/nox and 30% increase in tax. Would I be better to buy now...

I'd be looking for top spec ones, either from Irish garage or go across the pond.. what ever returns spec I want for price I can justify..

    What's people's thoughts?

Also, I'm guessing next year will have more 2018 cars fresh off PCP?

Should be lots of the new model a6 being traded in January, they were all 182 models but its common enough for trades to happen a bit before the full 3 years on pcp. Id much prefer the a6 over the volvo

I'd say you're probably too late for a uk import now anyway.

I have a 151 a6 estate and am looking at going up to 19/20, there seems to be much better value in the volvos in my opinion. I love the a6, had
the a6 allroad before it but not seeing much wrong with the Volvo. Slightly less desirable, but that comes through in the current pricing too. I brought
my current one in but looking to trade this time, very good value on low mileage 201s, presume demos etc. a few in dealers here, but they’ve imported them and added 10-15k profit!

So would you import now before brexit?
Import after brexit & hope the £ devalues
or wait for irish dealers to drop their price as its a year older according to the plate?

    Import before Jan 1
    VRT up in new year

No idea what tax and tariffs could be added in Jan.
Maybe nothing, maybe massive import duties.

Best current option would be to import now, I would except trying to sell privately in lockdown wasn’t an option. Came close to going ahead anyway, but we are debating need for two cars at all for next year or so.
