Fire door query

As part of attic conversion I have to add fire doors to ground and first floor. My problem is that the doors on ground floor are 2" thick pine approx 8' tall gothic design arches and hand made. Is there any way to fire proof these internal doors to Irish regulations without having to get them custom made again as fire doors. Can they be sprayed with special paint or is that only an option in the UK.

I am no expert here, just going on what I see.

just wonder why do you think 2" solid pine won't cut it?
You will need to have intumescent strips rebated into the frame or and door as required.

You also need to select the proper door closers.

Won't they need to be certified to cut it? Was the manufacturer registered for fire safe doors?

You can get existing fire doors inspected by a specialist, have seen it done on a job where we had to change out the factory fitted abloy locks on site as they were the wrong spec., guy came to site to re-certify the doors for the door supplier. This was for access controlled fire doors on a commercial job, normally to keep the manufacturers cert, any drilling for locks and hardware has to be done in the factory.

I assume its different for a domestic job, chances are it's not as strict and strips and hinges may be all that's required to change.
I would suggest looking online for someone in that area, may be able to advise you on the best option.
