Trouble sourcing a 'roller door garage weight'

    Hi folks,
I have a roller door on my garage and many months ago I picked up a Liftmaster LM750 door motor which is working well. It could do with a 'garage weight' which sites at the bottom of the door to give a little bit of extra weight/mass when the unit is starting to roll down. I can't find one for sale anywhere other than in Australia :D and they aren't too pushed to ship to Ireland.

Can't find them online in Europe...unless its one of those 'sure, you would have got one with the unit if bought from a supplier' things?

Wouldnt a piece of angle iron or flat bar bolted on not achieve the same result here?

True, thats the backup plan for sure - ideally if the small/tidy weight could be got I'd get that first though

Get some lead flashing and fix it to the bottom, you wont need much since its so dense

Good idea - thanks folks. I was so focused on getting the item I didn't even think of just using something else :)

    Update: Lead sourced!

We better not see a new thread about "I have a leak in my roof valley" later! :)
