Roll up, roll up.... Who among you is brave enough to drive on the N69 Rollercoaster between the Ferry Bridge and Kildimo?

Can you manage to negotiate the bumps and drops, hills and hollows as your car bounces along waiting for Trucks to lose control and swerve into your path or perhaps instead shed their load onto your children?!

That's why they're planning a new route to Foynes via the N21. They'd need to close the road completely for weeks/months to repair it.

It's pretty rare you get to drive anywhere near the speed limit on that section anyway and it's fine at the 60-80km/h you usually get to do behind the regular driving miss daisys.

That section of road is scheduled to be completely re laid all the way into the village of kildimo. Tender process has been completed so its just a matter of when they are going to do it. The road is sinking so some serious amount of work involved to get it all level again.

It's been like that for over 20 years at this stage. Try it on a bus, it's like a scene from the original Star Trek.
