It would deliver Saorview without issue, but if you're planning to use the Freesat tuner for UK satellite, research the particular model.

Several reports of LG sets having issues decoding BBC HD channels, resulting in picture breakup and pixelation.

Richer sounds are available to chat in the talk to section of boards. See if they will knock off a bit as a boards deal

The 6 year warranty (which you are entitled to) from richer sounds is always the kicker.

Good luck in 4 years times trying to get support from HM or power city if you have an issue.

+1 richer sounds. Im sorry they closed down the dublin shop - but then you would be surprised the number of people who consider buying something in a shop in Ireland to be shopping locally.

Can confirm, as purchaser of this model (locally in Ireland!), that the issue DID exist when first setting up, but the first software update fixed it.

Buying something in a shop locally has a little to do with supporting local jobs though.

Pah! This 6 year warranty stuff really....how many of us run into problems with tv's after the 2 years standard warranty, and EU law covers 6 years for problems (though not as wide open a warranty as richer sounds from what I gather).

But how many of us are going to have same tv in 6 years? Not many.

Support local Irish jobs if you can. Hopefully those jobs will still be around in 6 years, which might be more important than your warranty!

I have a Samsung 32' in the bedroom now almost 8 years.

I went into 3 local shops back in August for a specific model 65inch LG. Was promised 'we'll get back to you' or 'I'll get your details and will ring you tomorrow'
Still waiting for that call.

Regarding the 6 year warranty from richer sounds in Northern Ireland.

Is this given by the manufacturer or is it an additional insurance?
Also,come January 1st when brexit kicks in will these warranties still be valid?

No such thing as an EU law that coveres you for six years. The EU law says you must be allowed to take a case to court for at least 2 years. Ireland picked 6 years. Being allowed to sue doesn't mean you will win. The only legal guarantee you have is "a reasonable amount of time"

I've a 32 inch Phillips for near 15 years. Got with my launch xbox 360. I see no reason to upgrade it, and it's hardly used now.

Re Richersounds 6 year warranty
2 people I know had issues an LG with a colour processor issue and a Phillips with a power supply problem. Both TV's collected and returned within a week. The LG was 2 years old the Phillips nearly 5....There is a smug feeling from a 6 yr guarantee and its an email so not lost at the bottom of a drawer !
